Family-run since 1983

In 1983, Benny and Kirsten Hansen started the company Bekidan in small premises in Central Funen.

Since then, things have progressed rapidly. In 1986, Bekidan moved to its own newly built 600 m2 workshop in Årslev, which was expanded in 1990 by another 1000 m2.

There was also ongoing investment in machinery for production, so that everything could be manufactured in our own workshop. Both cutting and bending, CNC milling, turning and our own design studio, which was equipped with modern 3D drawing programs.

The main product in the first years was primarily the production of potting machines, but increasingly complete production plants were also manufactured for larger Danish nurseries.

In 2007, the assembly workshop was expanded again with 900 m2, so that it was now possible to make larger systems that could be set up and tested in the workshop before being delivered to the customer. Today, we have 2500 m2 of continuous workshop and office space. Here, we manufacture all the parts for our machines and systems ourselves.

Throughout the 2000s, industrial robots became a permanent part of Bekidan's product range and are used today in various contexts to solve customer-specific tasks.

Bekidan has always had the clear goal of manufacturing high-quality machines that are user-friendly and reliable, and it is not unusual for 30-year-old machines and systems to still be in production, despite the harsh environment they operate in.
